American Platinum Eagle coins are created by the US mint and sold through to the public only through authorized retailers. They are 99.5% pure platinum, and each coin will be stamped as such, along with the amount of platinum the coins contain. The coins are available in 1 ounce, ½ ounce, ¼ ounce and 1/10 ounce versions, in both collectable proof coins and collectable uncirculated coins, making them a viable and smart investment.
